Eating through Rome…Mangia!

Updated: Mar 25, 2022

Planning your next trip to Rome and want advice beyond the great pasta? Here are a variety of restaurants where you can discover a whole series of mouth-watering dishes like; carciofo alla giudia, saltimbocca, and carpaccio...just to name a few.

Nonna Betta- Jewish Quarter famous for fried artichokes

Er Pizzicarolo- in Trastevere known for panini’s

DOC Cruderia Bistrot- great for apertivo crudo and pinse

Cantina e Cucina- near Piazza Navona get the Saltimbocca

Mi´ndujo- multiple locations- twist on a fast food burger

Life Ristorante-Via della Vita- carpaccio, truffles, and seafood

While Rome is the capitol of Italy, it is also considered the pasta capitol, so it would be remiss of me not to include restaurants that offer the best of the famous four; Carbonara, Cacio e Pepe, Amatriciana, and Gricia.

Taverna Trilussa- Carbonara (all their dishes are outstanding!)

Trattoria da Danilo- Cacio e Pepe (prepared in a cheese wheel)

Hosteria Grappolo d’oro- Rigatoni Amatriciana (love this place)

Da Cesare al Casaletto- Pasta alla gricia (try carciofo alla giudia)

Armando Al Pantheon- Spaghetti aglio e olio

Da Enzo 29- All things Italian, but try the polpette

Allora…we need gelato

Looking for something traditional try Old Bridge, Frigidarium, Ciampini, or Giolitti. If you are a bit more adventurous, stroll over to Fatamorgana, by the Spanish Steps.

Buon Appetito!
